緯創資通股份有限公司與國立交通大學結合雙方之優勢,共同建立嵌入式人工智慧產學合作,強化雙方在嵌入式人工智慧的能量,藉由嵌入式AI技術優勢建構多樣化以智慧交通及智慧製造等為中心之新興應用場域,造就更便捷、人性化的智慧生活。雙方同意設立「緯創-交大嵌入式人工智慧研究中心」(以下簡稱本中心)。本中心設立之具體目標為推動產學生態優化、實質成果應用與人才培育,進而結合產官學研通力合作,構建新型態智慧運算平台成為臺灣下一個兆元產業。
Sponsored by Wistron and founded in 2020 September, Wistron-NCTU Embedded Artificial Intelligence Research Center (E-AI RDC) is a young and enthusiastic research center led by Prof. Jiun-In Guo (Institute of Electronics, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University) aiming at developing the key technology related to embedded AI applications, ranging from AI data acquisition and labeling, AI model development and optimization and AI computing platform development with the help of easy to use AI toolchain (called ezAIT). The target applications cover AIoT, ADAS/ADS, smart transportation, smart manufacturing, smart medical imaging, and emerging communication systems. In addition to developing the above-mentioned technology, E-AI RDC will also collaborate with international partners as well as industrial partners in cultivating the talents in the embedded AI field to further enhance the industrial competitiveness in Taiwan Industry.
由緯創資通股份有限公司所贊助而成立於2020年九月之緯創-交大嵌入式人工智慧研究中心 (以下簡稱本中心) 是一個年輕、有研究衝勁與熱忱之嵌入式AI研究中心,第一任中心主任由國立陽明交通大學電子研究所郭峻因教授來擔任,本中心成立的目標是要研發嵌入式人工智慧關鍵技術,涵蓋資料擷取與自動/快速標記技術、AI運算模型開發與優化設計以及低功耗高效能AI運算平台開發與設計,並研發上述相關研究主題的軟體工具鏈 (AI toolchain, called ezAIT)。本中心所設定的應用涵蓋AI物聯網 (AIoT)、自駕車/先進駕駛輔助系統、智慧交通、智慧製造、智慧醫療、以及下世代通訊系統等。除了研發上述嵌入式人工智慧研究未來關鍵技術之外,本中心也將與國際級研究機構與國際級產業公司進行深度合作,共同培育嵌入式人工智慧領域之高階人才,並呼應政府「產業AI化、AI產業化」之政策目標,以前瞻研究技術提高台灣產業技術含金量,以因應未來全球化之產業競爭。

Tian-Sheuan Chang (張添烜) (S'93–M'06–SM'07) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU), Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1993, 1995, and 1999, respectively. From 2000 to 2004, he was a Deputy Manager with Global Unichip Corporation, Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 2004, he joined the Department of Electronics Engineering, NCTU (as National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in 2021), where he is currently a Professor. In 2009, he was a visiting scholar in IMEC, Belgium. His current research interests include system-on-a-chip design, VLSI signal processing, and computer architecture. Dr. Chang has received the Excellent Young Electrical Engineer from Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering in 2007, and the Outstanding Young Scholar from Taiwan IC Design Society in 2010. He has been actively involved in many international conferences as an organizing committee or technical program committee member. |

個人簡介 Biography | |
Prof. Jiun-In Guo was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C. in 1966. Prof. Guo received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1989 and 1993, respectively. He is currently a Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Electronics, the Associated Dean of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Director of Embedded Artificial Intelligence Research Center, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Prof. Guo has been the Director of Institute of Electronics, National Chiao-Tung University during 2013-2015. Before joining in National Chiao-Tung University, Prof. Guo was an Associate Professor of the Dept. of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chung-Cheng University, from 2001 to 2003 and get promoted as a Professor since 2003. Prof. Guo also served as the Director of the SOC Research Center, National Chung-Cheng University, from 2005 to 2008, and the Director of the Dept. of Computer Science, National Chung-Cheng University, Taiwan during 2009-2011 and the Research Distinguished Professor of National Chung-Cheng University since 2008. During 1994 to 2001, Prof. Guo served as an Associate Professor of the Dept. of Electronics Engineering, National Lien-Ho Institute of Technology, Miaoli, Taiwan. His research interests include images, multimedia, and digital signal processing, VLSI algorithm/architecture design, digital SIP design, SOC design, and intelligent vision processing applications including ADAS/Self-driving vehicles. Prof. Guo received the outstanding electrical engineering professor award from the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering in 2010, the outstanding engineering professor award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2014, the outstanding research award of Minister of Science (MOST) in 2017, as well as the outstanding technology transferring award of MOST in 2018 with the topic of ADAS system. Prof. Guo is the author of 243 technical papers on the research areas. |
緯創-交大嵌入式人工智慧研究中心的推動策略採業界出題、學界解題的方式,提出產業技術研發痛點,由研發中心團隊來協助解決。每年依照中長期研究藍圖,規劃未來研究計劃重點依時程來進行開發,同時緯創資通相關之技術承接部門也規劃相對應的技術落地計畫,將所研發技術能夠具體應用於產業技術中,解決產業技術發展瓶頸與痛點,協助緯創資通奠定前瞻AI技術研發基礎,進一步創造高產品附加價值。除此之外,緯創資通也積極鼓勵研究中心團隊追求前瞻學術研究並兼具產業效益之技術研發與實證,更積極股勵緯創-交大嵌入式人工智慧研究中心團隊成員勇敢實現新創公司的夢想,籌措資源協助有心新創公司的團隊能一步一步扎實走向創業之路,雖然過程中必將面臨許多困難與考驗,期許能陪伴新創團隊共同逐夢踏實。
